It seems that the fuel pump would be able to maintain sufficient pressure for idle, even with a small leak. If the leak was at an injector, then it seems that could cause poor idle. ... The MAIN thing here is that you probably have a fuel leak, and this can cause a fire, which causes all kinds of problems, like how to part-out the carcass and where to get another Z. My buddy lost his whole car to a "small" fuel leak. "Search" will tell you how to do a paper towel (the one I prefer) or talcum powder leak test. (if you look at my post history, I explained it in detail about a year ago, but others have also). If you don't find a leak that way, you can confirm there is no leak by pressure testing the system, but that won't tell you where it is.
